Welcome, welcome.

This is a new lit club. (Yes I realize there’s thousands on DA.) What this has that others don’t is pure commitment.

In may lit clubs, side talk takes over where the poetry talk should be. I normally don’t mind this because I myself go off into rambling every now and again. However, I have grown enraged at the lack of carelessness among deviants who say they are writers.

I don’t mean to generalize anyone, and believe me that is not my point. The point I’m making is we need a difference. We need a club where devoir is charged though every bone and nerve. We need a place where beginning poets can learn the ropes of basic writing. From metaphor and meter to symmetry and trope; we need this more than anything.

I know myself that I don’t know every literary device used in writing. That is why we have these clubs. Knowledgeable writes that have more experience in the craft can teach what they know. This is how I became so aware of writing devices.

When I joined DA I had little knowledge of any writing device. I just knew I loved to write. Though these clubs and its members I now have a deeper understanding of writing.

Though the past months I felt a lack of care among new members who wandered into the rooms. It seems that now all everyone wants to do is joke around 24/7. This vexes me because I know that there are some writers on the member list who watch the conversation and hope they’ll learn something new today.

This is why I created EpicStanza.
